Lampang Rajabhat University was founded in 1971 as Lampang Teachers College. It offered courses leading to a teacher’s certificate and in 1976, following the 1975 Teachers College Act, began to offer full degree programmes in education. In 1992 the college was renamed Lampang Rajabhat Institute. Twelve years later, the institute attained full university status under its current name.
The university is in Lampang, the third largest city in northern Thailand.
There are seven faculties within the university: faculty of education, faculty of science, faculty of arts, faculty of business administration, faculty of accountancy, faculty of laws, and faculty of technology. Each faculty is divided into different departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for providing services to students that lead to personal and social development.
