Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneswar, India, established in 1997, was granted deemed to be University status (u/s 3 of UGC Act 1956) in 2004 by the Government of India.

With a diverse student body of 30,000 from all over India and more than 65 countries, KIIT is on its way to becoming an international hub for quality professional and technical education. KIIT is a member of reputed national and international bodies such as EAIE, IAU, AIU, ACU, UMAP, IAUP, AUAP, IIE, UNAI, ESRUC, and Talloires Network of Engaged Universities.

KIIT is also accredited in high grades by various national and international accreditation bodies. It was conferred ‘A’ category university status in 2015 by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. It has been getting ‘A’ Grade from NAAC, the country's top accreditation body for higher education institutions, for three times in a row. B.Tech programmes have got the coveted Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), UK accreditation and ABET, US Accreditation besides ‘Tier 1’ (Washington Accord) from NBA.

KIIT comprises 23 constituent faculty-specific campuses imparting cutting-edge skills and knowledge to the students pursuing bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programmes in 200 plus disciplines, spanning engineering, medicine, management, biotechnology, law, architecture, arts, commerce, fashion technology, media sciences, yoga and more. The world-class infrastructure and facilities of KIIT are set in a beautiful solar-enabled green and eco-friendly ambiance.

KIIT’s accent on research includes being the only private university in India to have established a Centre for Scientific Research. It also has a Central Advanced Research Centre (CARC) for multidisciplinary research and, in collaboration with various industries, a number of Centres of Excellence and specialized school-level laboratories.

KIIT has collaborations with 195 global institutions of repute, nurturing an international, interconnected perspective, where students find a plethora of opportunities to pursue higher education abroad. The university's Nobel Lecture Series, KIIT Knowledge Tree Lecture Series, and numerous mega national and international seminars, conferences, symposiums, conclaves, etc. bring a large number of dignitaries and distinguished scholars from across the globe, providing students with invaluable exposure.

As a university with a vision, KIIT promotes sports and games in a big way among the students. It has the most elaborate and comprehensive sports infrastructure located in a single place in the country. This includes a world-class multi-sport stadium and 16 international standard sports complexes distributed on different campuses.
