We are seeking to recruit a qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist or Counselling Psychologist (BACP, UKCP or BPS registered, or eligible for such) to join our established multidisciplinary team working with students with wide ranging and sometimes complex issues. The role is offered on a part time, 3-day-a-week basis, for a 0.6 Full time Equivalent.

About 70% of our sessions are ‘One at a Time’, and we also support students with brief counselling contracts, and sometimes over the longer term, both face to face and via video. Some counsellors also offer phone, email and IM counselling, but this is optional.

	Able to assess, manage and work therapeutically with crisis, risk and complex presentations
	Integrative and flexible therapeutic approach
	Able to bring new skills, life experience and fresh perspectives to our team
	Understanding and experience of promoting the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda.


Core hours are 9am-5pm. Candidates must be able to attend campus for all their working hours.

About the team:

The research group Scientific Computing, led by Prof. Siegfried Benkner, focuses on research in programming paradigms, languages, compilers, and software and hardware infrastructures for scientific computing to support users in the process of solving increasingly complex compute- and data-intensive problems in science and engineering on high-end parallel and distributed computing platforms.
The selected candidate will participate in an international and interdisciplinary research project under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Atakan Aral.  The project aims to ensure seamless and reliable monitoring of critical infrastructures (e.g., facilities for water supply and electricity generation) through real-time and distributed processing of IoT sensor data. The project team will include doctoral and master’s students in our group, as well as international partners from the University of Sheffield, UK, and University College Dublin, Ireland.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research and administration, which means:


	You develop an independent research profile in the field of distributed systems.
	You get involved in the research and management of the EU project mentioned above.
	You supervise the research conducted by master’s and doctoral students.
	You engage with colleagues from adjacent fields and collaborate on interdisciplinary research.
	You publish internationally and give lectures.
	You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.


This is a purely research-oriented position with no teaching duties, unless the candidate specifically requests them, in which case additional compensation will be provided.

These are your qualifications:


	You have completed doctoral/PhD studies in Computer Science or a closely related field, or you expect to complete them by 31.12.2024.
	You have established experience in distributed systems, ideally in the areas of the Internet of Things, Edge/Cloud Computing, Edge AI/Federated Learning, or Sensor Networks, with a focus on resource management, latency/performance optimization, fault tolerance, scalability, or energy efficiency/sustainability.
	You have research competence and initiative proven through international publications in reputable conferences and journals.
	You have excellent written and spoken English skills, demonstrated by high-quality academic writing and communication. (Our working language is English.)
	You are experienced in research management and leading project staff.
	You are a team player with strong social/communicative skills.

Description

The Materials NMR laboratory in the Division/ Center of science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant/ research associate/ postdoctoral associate to work on the solid-state NMR with focus on the materials chemistry.

The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on DNP solid-state NMR on energy related materials.  Our recent work can be found here (10.1039/D3SC05514K).

The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a PhD in solid-state NMR.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. Good computer programming skills and working knowledge of MATLAB are preferred.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge resources at core technology platform at NYU AD in a collaborative research environment. The NMR center at NYU Abu Dhabi has an active NMR research community with a DNP SSNMR at 600 MHz (spinning frequency range from 10 kHz to 100 kHz), 500 MHz solution NMR spectrometer and X-band EPR instrument. Moreover, the postdoc will have access to the well-equipped core research facilities of NYUAD.

About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in a well-funded, and internationally prominent, research group. In particular we are looking for candidates who are keen to gain experience prior to starting a PhD or research post in developmental, educational or clinical psychology or neuroscience.

An Institute Manager is required for the new Institute for the Science of Early Years (ISEY), a new centre currently being set up based on existing work from the UEL BabyDev Lab (www.uelbabydev.com), and other world-leading courses at UEL (e.g. the Educational and Child Psychology Prof Doc and Clinical Psychology Prof Doc, Psychology, Education). 

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating several ongoing research grants in early years neuroscience, including awards from the European Research Council, European Union, Economic and Social Research Councils UK, and Medical Research Council, as well as liaising with academic staff, local national and international educational bodies, commercial partners, clinical partners, local councils, journalists and media.

Duties will be highly varied, and will involve: managing recruitment of infant/child participants, coordinating a large and highly active group research including coordinating lab meetings, procurement, reports to grant holders, coordinating academic staff across the university, managing students and interns on research projects, managing the group’s state-of-the-art research facilities which include AR/VR, EEG, fNIRS, eyetracking, wearables, managing the centre’s social media channels, dealing with press inquiries, liaising with local education providers and clinical partners, and so on.  

About You
