Basic information and contact details for Kazakh-British Technical University
Kazakh-British Technical University (hereinafter – KBTU) is located in Almaty city, Kazakhstan. KBTU is one of the leading technical universities in Central Asia. The university provides education in three levels: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and PhD. In 2021, the university celebrated the 20th anniversary of its establishment as a result of a signed Memorandum of Understanding between two countries – the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom. KBTU offers programmes to both Kazakhstani and foreign students in 9 schools, including the School of Energy and Petroleum Industry, School of Geology, School of Information Technology and Engineering, Business School, etc. KBTU is the first and only university in Kazakhstan to be officially affiliated with the University of London. All IT programmes are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the Finance programme is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Master in Financial Analysis is officially recognized by the CFA Institute, Business School programmes are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). All studies are conducted in English.

What the scholarship covers:
Education (4 years for bachelor's degree, 2/1.5 years for master's degree, 3 years for doctoral studies)
Monthly scholarship (36,660 tenge for undergraduate students, 86,987 tenge for master students, 195,000 tenge for doctoral students)
What the scholarship does not cover:
Visa costs, including an invitation for a visa

Personal expenses
Flight

The Olympiad is held in an online format and consists of 2 rounds: the first round is the Olympiad in mathematics, physics and English on the Class Marker (https://www.classmarker.com) online platform, the second round is an online interview with a committee.
Participants:
Only non-citizens of Kazakhstan may participate.
Only high school graduating class of 2022.
International Olympiad for foreign applicants will be held in the English language in 3 subjects: mathematics, physics, and English. Attention! The participant must pass all three subjects.
After summing up the results of the Olympiad, the winners of the first, second and third places will be determined. Winners of the Olympiad receive the following discounts to study on undergraduate programs at KBTU:
I place - 100% (2)
II place - 50% (2)
III place - 30% (2)
Student life:
In KBTU, you will enjoy not only your academic life but also your student life. There are moore than 35 active student organizations. Some of them are: ArtHouse, Mountain Kings, Eco community, KBTU Startup Incubator, Faces, Alive, etc.
Dormitory:
For non-resident and international students in need of housing, KBTU provides places in our state- of- art Student residence that comprises four large buildings that can house 852 students. It is not an ordinary student residence, it is a real home with comfortable and clean rooms, sitting rooms, green open spaces in a quiet area.
All the four buildings have excellent living conditions and superb sanitary services. The buildings and residence sections include one, two, three and four bedrooms for undergraduate and graduate students.
