Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This role involves contributing to the teaching, postgraduate supervision, and administration requirements of the School/Division, maintaining and developing original scholarship and research, and undertaking relevant professional/community/iwi service activities. You will prepare and deliver research-informed lectures and/or seminars, and conduct and/or coordinate tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, or workshops.

You will supervise honours, graduate, and postgraduate students, including as a Supervisor for PhD students. You will maintain an active research programme, conduct quality research, and contribute to knowledge development through scholarship and publication. This includes involvement in research projects, attendance and presentation at academic conferences, and potentially leading a research team. The salary for a lecturer is in the range of $87,500 to $104,322, based on skills, knowledge, and experience. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week) based at our Hillcrest Campus. You possess a PhD or Professional Doctorate in Sport Psychology or a relevant discipline. You thrive in a higher education environment, enjoying teaching and postgraduate supervision while maintaining and developing original scholarship and research. You also have a research profile pertinent to the study of Sport Psychology and a willingness to build interdisciplinary collaborations with staff across the School.

About the role

This role has a teaching and research focus. Working in a new course, the Senior Lecturer will collaboratively contribute to the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement of an innovative curriculum and pedagogy for the Master of Speech Pathology. They will lead unit and course teaching teams to develop, implement and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes, taking on specific leadership roles, for example, Course Director. The position will work with the local community and lead growing, increasingly productive, high-quality research, scholarship and engagement activities.

As a Senior Lecturer, you will:


	Integrate industry, clinical, collaborative and/or research practice into unit/course design to improve student learning experiences.
	Integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges and perspectives across curriculum and teaching practice.
	Lead the development and/or adoption of new innovation in curriculum design
	Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research.
	Seek funding for research and creative activities, including applications for external competitive funding, external funding for commercialization and translation activities
	Recruit and supervise HDR students with timely completions and production and high-quality outcomes and provide effective mentoring to HDR students


To be successful, you’ll have: 


	Qualification as a speech pathologist at undergraduate or graduate level plus a PhD in a relevant area or advanced qualifications and extensive experience in academic speech pathology.
	Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of speech pathology professional competency development and standards, and of contemporary issues relating to the profession.
	Demonstrated excellence in student engagement and demonstrated experience in leadership roles
	Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision.
	Growing research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals.
	Knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues related to First Nations Peoples
	Positive engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline

About You

Join our team as the Coordinator, Governance and Quality and play a pivotal role in providing high-level professional support to college committees and managing student complaints and appeals processes.

You will be responsible for providing expert administrative support for program and course review and ensuring the program and course lifecycle processes follow an efficient and compliant governance process.

You will work collaboratively with the Senior Coordinator, the team, College leaders and with key internal and external stakeholders as you coordinate a variety of governance-related functions in the College. The role represents an excellent career development opportunity as you learn about all things STEM College.

To be successful in this position, you will have:


	Proven knowledge and demonstrated experience in the coordination and delivery of corporate and academic governance in the tertiary education sector, including in policy development and quality assurance.
	Demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level executive support for University/College committees, preferably within a tertiary education environment while working on complex, sensitive and confidential matters.
	Sound knowledge of administrative processes relating to committee procedures, with experience in the preparation of minutes and reporting on arising issues, formal voting processes, protocol issues, program and course development approvals and student complaints and appeals.
	Highly developed interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and a proven ability to convey complex information, ideas and concepts clearly and efficiently to a variety of different audiences.
	Excellent organisational and time management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and re-adjust workload priorities to meet conflicting deadlines.
	Demonstrated ability to think critically and use analytical and problem-solving skills, to develop and implement new procedures and guidelines to contribute to organisational efficiency and client service objectives.
	Demonstrated proficiency in various software packages.
	Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team, including supporting and guiding Governance and Quality Senior officers in day-to-day processes.
	Experience in identifying and coordinating projects and continuous improvement initiatives relevant to governance and team functions.

The Associate Director, Workplace Relations brings extensive and specialist knowledge of workplace relations and an understanding of the complexities of the higher education environment.
