Jizzakh State Pedagogical University was established in 1974 and was given university status in 2022. The university has faculties of maths and informatics, natural science, Uzbek language and literature, elementary education, history, physics and technology education, foreign languages (predominantly English), Russian language and literature, pedagogy and psychology, physical culture, pre-school education, music, and medicine. There are a range of clubs students can get involved with including the student radio.
