Jashore University of Science and Technology was founded in 2007. It began offering four-year undergraduate programmes in 2009.
As its name suggests, the university is located in Jashore, a city in Jashore District, southwestern Bangladesh.
The university is organised into seven faculties: engineering and technology, applied science and technology, biological science and technology, health science, arts and social science, business studies, and science. Each faculty is divided into different departments, offering a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
There are two halls of residence based at the university: Shaheed Moshiur Rahman Hall and Sheikh Hasina Student Hall. Both residences are fully equipped with a TV room, a reading room, a canteen and a gymnasium.
The International Service Centre is responsible for overseeing the university’s international activity. The university has developed partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe in order to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges.
The Genome Centre was established by the university as a specialised facility for advanced and high-quality biomedical research. The centre aims to provide new opportunities for diagnostics and treatment of incurable diseases through the use of genomic data.
