Description

The Cyber Security & Privacy lab (CSP-laboratory) of Dr. Christina Pöpper seeks to recruit a post-doctoral or research associate to work on cyber security and privacy research of existing and emerging networks and communication systems, with a possible starting date in January 2025 (or later). The group’s research builds upon the areas of system, network, information, and computer security. Candidates need to be skilled and comfortable with experimental work in cyber security. Although a postdoctoral/research associate candidate will be preferred, this position may also be filled by a research assistant in well justified cases.

The CSP-laboratory conducts cutting-edge research in communication, network, cyber, and system security and privacy, in particular on


	Security and privacy in mobile telephony networks (5G, 6G, ORAN), satellite-based and airborne communication, or other wireless systems or networks
	AI, LLM and ML security, privacy and trustworthiness
	 Anonymous or privacy-preserving communication


The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can work independently, has a passion for security and privacy topics in different application contexts, and is willing to learn new technologies. The candidate should have a PhD or MSc in Computer Science or a closely related field (BSc holders will be considered in justified cases). Relevant background and skills include:


	Experimental experience with software radios, 5G user equipment, VPNs, Tor, or other hard- and software relevant to the described systems an networks
	Up-to-date software development and machine learning skills, incl. work with ML libraries, multimodal AI models, etc.
	Exposure to security and privacy research work
	Excellent written and verbal communication skills
	Track record of research with publications in top-tier conferences


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join ongoing international collaborations as well as collaborations within the Center for Cyber Security at New York University Abu Dhabi.

Applicants for the postdoctoral position must have a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or closely related fields. Applicants for the research associate position must have a MSc or BSc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Security or closely related field. Excellent experimental skills are required.

Description

The Trabolsi Research Group at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a post-doctoral associate position focused on the development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs)-based adsorbents and membranes for advanced water purification technologies.

The successful candidate will lead innovative research aimed at optimizing the application of COFs in water purification, with a particular focus on removing emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from water. This project will involve the directed synthesis of COF structures tailored for the selective removal of specific contaminants, followed by comprehensive studies of their molecular interactions with various emerging pollutants.

Key Responsibilities:


	Design and synthesize COFs with specific properties for targeted contaminant removal.
	Develop and optimize methods for using COF-based materials in water treatment systems, including adsorption columns and membrane technologies.
	Conduct experiments using techniques such as batch adsorption protocols, adsorption columns, membrane cells, and electrochemical water decontamination.
	Analyze and interpret data from these techniques to refine and improve COF performance in real-world applications.
	Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of PhD scientists, graduate students, and undergraduates, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative research environment.


Qualifications:


	PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
	Extensive experience in the synthesis and characterization of covalent organic frameworks, particularly as they relate to water treatment applications.
	Strong background in experimental techniques relevant to the project, including experience with porous frameworks in water purification systems.
	Proficiency in analytical techniques used to characterize materials and their interactions with contaminants.
	A proven track record of interdisciplinary research and collaboration in materials science and engineering is preferred.

About the Role

Flinders University is seeking an Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator to join their team within the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement.

The Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator (ICPPC) will work to raise the profile of the University to prospective Indigenous students by facilitating partnerships with Indigenous community organisations, schools and educational programs. The successful candidate will manage a small team of staff, coordinate partnerships with pathways stakeholders, contribute to the development of an Indigenous Recruitment Strategy, and develop an annual calendar of recruitment activities and events that promote access to Flinders University pathways.

The successful candidate will also:


	Act as a key liaison point and subject matter expert regarding pathways into Flinders University including the Indigenous Admission Scheme, scholarship and accommodation.
	Foster sustainable relationships with an extensive network of internal and external stakeholders.

About the Role

The Student Placement Officer, internally referred to as the Work Integrated Learning Support Officer is responsible for providing a range of support services for the College’s Work Integrated (WIL) programs. You will work closely with the WIL Team Leader to leverage opportunities internally and externally and assist with administration, matching students to placements and ensuring that students meet the requirements for preplacement/WIL experience and contribute to enhancing positive graduate outcomes.

You will be required to provide timely advice to various stakeholders and students to support WIL supervision and exercise sound judgement when dealing with sensitive or urgent issues relating to student placements.

As the successful candidate you will be accountable for:


	Liaising with placement providers and undertaking any administration required for placements, including the preparation of contracts, and maintaining quality student data.

About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in a well-funded, and internationally prominent, research group. In particular we are looking for candidates who are keen to gain experience prior to starting a PhD or research post in developmental, educational or clinical psychology or neuroscience.

An Institute Manager is required for the new Institute for the Science of Early Years (ISEY), a new centre currently being set up based on existing work from the UEL BabyDev Lab (www.uelbabydev.com), and other world-leading courses at UEL (e.g. the Educational and Child Psychology Prof Doc and Clinical Psychology Prof Doc, Psychology, Education). 

The post holder will be responsible for coordinating several ongoing research grants in early years neuroscience, including awards from the European Research Council, European Union, Economic and Social Research Councils UK, and Medical Research Council, as well as liaising with academic staff, local national and international educational bodies, commercial partners, clinical partners, local councils, journalists and media.

Duties will be highly varied, and will involve: managing recruitment of infant/child participants, coordinating a large and highly active group research including coordinating lab meetings, procurement, reports to grant holders, coordinating academic staff across the university, managing students and interns on research projects, managing the group’s state-of-the-art research facilities which include AR/VR, EEG, fNIRS, eyetracking, wearables, managing the centre’s social media channels, dealing with press inquiries, liaising with local education providers and clinical partners, and so on.  

About You
