Following the announcement that Professor Sir Jim McDonald GBE is to retire after 16 years in the post, the University Court is looking to appoint an exceptional individual as Principal and Vice-Chancellor to play the pivotal role in guiding us towards this future and maintaining our culture of ambition through excellence and inclusivity.

Perrett Laver, the appointed adviser of the University of Strathclyde, is conducting an executive search exercise alongside the public advertisement for this role. Perrett Laver will support the Committee in the discharge of its duties.

About the Faculty of Health Sciences:

The Faculty of Health Sciences comprises three schools: Allied Health; Behavioural and Health Sciences; Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine. There are currently approximately 14,000 students (EFTSL) and 530 (FTE) staff in the faculty under the disciplines: occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, exercise science, exercise physiology, nutrition science, biomedical science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, physiotherapy, psychology and public health. All students have professional and clinical experience that is supervised by specially qualified practitioners. About Placement Services:

Placement Services is a specialist unit within the Office of the Associate Dean Learning, Teaching and Professional Experience in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The unit is dedicated to ensuring that every student in the faculty has access to appropriate, sustainable and high-quality professional practice placements. Placement Services works collaboratively to support internal and external stakeholders with high-level customer service to enable seamless placement administration and student placement experiences.

About the role:

Operating within Placement Services, as Team Leader, Placement Services, you will provide leadership, coordinate administrative operations and the day to day business of faculty clinical/ professional placements at the North Sydney campus. This requires supervising clinical administrative staff, coordinating activities undertaken by clinical administrative staff and providing hands-on support where necessary. This position will also be responsible for a designated activity within the faculty-wide clinical administration portfolio, which may comprise InPlace (student placement software), standard policy and procedures, or clinical placement agreements.

What we offer:


	The University pursues an excellence agenda and offers an environment where staff are welcomed and safe, and valued through development, participation and involvement.
	Total remuneration valued to $117,590 - $127,214 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $99,365 - $107,498 (pro rata) pa (HEW 7), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. A 3% salary increase will be effective from the beginning of the first full pay period commencing on or after 1st January 2025.
	17% employer superannuation contributions to eligible continuing and fixed-term staff.
	Annual leave loading of an equivalent to 17.5% of four weeks' salary pro rata payable, dependent on your commencement date.

If you are willing to learn how to design Analog microelectronics by defining the parametrized implementation with Python, this is an opportunity for you to join the programmatic circuit design activities of Aalto Microelectronics Research Center (https://metka.aalto.fi). 

We are looking for enthusiastic Master thesis workers and Doctoral researchers to work with us on this area of research. 

Analog building blocks are needed in every piece of microelectronics and Systems-on-Chip, like digital circuitry and microprocessors. Programmatic design methodology aims to provide parametrized and procedurally optimized analog building blocks for these needs. Berkeley Analog Generator is a design environment recently developed in University of Berkeley which enables analog circuit design by programmatic means. In Aalto we are looking for pioneer students with enthusiasm to learn to take this new methodology into use. If you want to be a game changer, this is your moment. 

Successful execution of the work requires willingness to learn fluent unix working habits, Git version control, shell scripting and Python programming, complemented with entry level knowledge of analog design tools and methodology. Topic focuses on implementation of analog building blocks for A/D converters, sensor interfaces, 5G mmWave circuits, radio transmitters and receivers according to your preferences. The position is appropriate for M.Sc. and PhD students eager to learn new things with devotion to acquire skills of the future. Minimum entry criteria are B.Sc degree for Master’s worker and M.Sc. Degree for doctoral researcher in microelectronics design or computer science and working proficiency in English.

We offer

The master thesis worker position is full time and for 6 months and the starting salary is approximately 2500 EUR/month. The doctoral researcher’s position will be filled for 2 + 2 years (doctoral studies are expected to take 4 years in total). The salary will be based on both the job requirements and the employee’s personal performance in accordance with the salary system of Finnish universities. The starting salary for a doctoral student is approximately 3000 EUR/month and increases with thesis progress. We offer a wide range of staff benefits, such as occupational health care, flexible working hours, excellent sports facilities on campus and several restaurants and cafés on campus with staff discounts. We are currently seeking to appoint an outstanding senior academic as Associate Professor or Professor of Allied Health, in partnership with the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD).The position is a component of a strategic partnership between the School of Health Sciences, FMH and SLHD, with the objective of enhancing the research capability among allied health clinical researchers and fostering the connection between the institutions to support research and education and other activities, such as student placements The position is co-located at the University of Sydney and Sydney Local Health District. This position will work alongside a passionate team of clinicians and researchers in the various allied health disciplines and pursue a research program, may teach in the Professor's relevant field, supervise postgraduate research students and contribute to the discipline's academic programs.

About you (skills, capabilities and experience)

The successful candidate will:


	Hold a PhD in an academic field relevant to the role
	Be registered as an allied health professional with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or is eligible for membership of the relevant allied health professional association if a self-regulated profession.
	Be a leading authority within their area of expertise and have an international reputation for excellence
	Possess a sound understanding of the NSW public health system and current challenges and priorities
	Possess a sound understanding of the key strategic issues in the higher education sector
	Have experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector and demonstrated ability to supervise and/or mentor others to success
	Be passionate about improving health service delivery at the local level through enabling quality research and translation of research to practice by others

Term and remuneration

This is a full time, continuing position. The successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities of the position and the candidate's relevant experience and qualifications. The level of appointment will be determined during the selection process, based on experience and track record. Applicants with suitable qualifications may be eligible for a salaried NSW Health Clinical appointment in SLHD subject to clinical need and funding.
