IIITDM Jabalpur was founded in 2005 when the Institute started functioning from the Jabalpur Engineering College's campus. It remained here until its permanent campus was constructed in 2009.
It is also known as Pandit Dwarka Prasad Mishra Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing.
At IIITDM Jabalpur, students can gain both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees within a wide variety of faculties, including: computer science and engineering, electronics and computer engineering, design, mechanical engineering and natural sciences.
Graduates of IIITDM Jabalpur have been snapped up by major industry players, including Samsung, Oracle, American Express and Capgemini.
On campus, students will find three hostels, modern academic zones, canteens, computer labs, medical facilities and a library.
The institute has its own cricket, football, volleyball, basketball ground, as well as badminton and tennis courts. Students can get involved with clubs, both recreationally and competitively.
IIITDM Jabalpur students have also formed various other clubs, for those with an interest in music and dance for example, and there are a variety of cultural, sports and science and technology activities throughout the academic year.
There are annual inter-college festivals called "Tarang" (cultural fest), "Abhikalpan" (Tech Fest) and "Gusto" (Sports Fest). These festivals are popular among the students of IIITDM Jabalpur and other colleges in the area. National Festivals like Independence Day and Republic Day are also organised by IIITDM Jabalpur students.
