Humanitas University is an international University dedicated to Life Sciences, based in Milan, Italy. Here, education and training are fully integrated with the Scientific Research Center and Humanitas Hospitals.
Built in 1996, IRCCS Istituto Clinico Humanitas is the first Italian hospital to be quality-certified as an Academic Hospital by the Joint Commission International, heading a group of hospitals in Italy, located in Milan, Bergamo, Castellanza, Turin and Catania. It is one of the most technologically advanced European hospitals and internationally renowned for its research on immune system diseases.
Humanitas University stands out for its international outlook: the 40% of its students are non italian and the visiting faculty includes internationally renowned researchers; the university highly focuses on the growth of its students, their training, their clinical and research careers, in Italy and overseas.
The educational offer of Humanitas University includes:
- Physiotherapy: a 3-year degree course run in Italian; the course hosts 50 students per year.
- Biomedical Laboratory Techniques: a 3-year degree course run in Italian; the course hosts 25 students per year.
- Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques: a 3-year degree course run in Italian; the course hosts 25 students per year.
- Master Degree in Medicine and Surgery: a 6-year degree course entirely run in English; the course hosts 130 Eu students and 50 non-Eu students per year.
- MEDTEC School: a 6-year double degree in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, developed with Politecnico di Milano and entirely run in English; the course hotsts 60 Eu students and 10 non-Eu students per year.
- Nursing: a 3-year degree course run in Italian; the course hosts 140 students per year.
- Physiotherapy: a 3-year degree course run in Italian; the course hosts 50 students per year.
The master degree course in Nursing and Midwifery Sciences, 21 postgraduate schools, 2 PhDs and several Masters courses complete the educational offer.
Lessons are conducted in the new Campus, designed according to the most modern standards in terms of technology and environmental comfort to promote opportunities for meetings and exchanges between teachers, researchers and students from all over the world. One of the key asset of the Campus is the Simulation Centre: a high-tech space of over 2,000 square metres, among the largest in Europe, available to students, postgraduates and health professionals, who can be trained on the basis of different levels of specialization and complexity.
In September 2018, Humanitas University opened the brand new Student House, the student accomodations located in the Campus.

In order to attract the most talented and motivated candidates, Humanitas University has established a merit-based scholarship programme with scholarships worth between 5.000€ up to 20.000€ per year each.
Humanitas University aims to prepare students to face the challenging reality of a European society that, while still strongly anchored to its traditions, is undergoing the process of globalization: the exchange programs provide students with an opportunity to study in a different country and environment experiencing the history and culture of another country, as well as meeting new friends to enrich their personal development. International exchange programs, including Erasmus+ and Travel Grants, are also effective to challenge students to develop a global perspective.
