Description

The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), is inviting applications for a fully funded Post-Doctoral Associate position in the areas of materials and devices for sensing applications.

The Post-Doctoral Associate will work under the supervision of Dr. Panče Naumov (Center for Smart Engineering Materials (NYUAD-CSEM)) on preparation of materials and devices for sensing of organic and inorganic chemical components by using electrochemical, optical or other methods. The candidate will prepare, characterize and assess the performance of devices, specifically aimed at applications in the oil and gas sector. Moreover, the candidate will have access to the well-equipped core research facilities of NYUAD.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent degree in either science (Chemistry, Physics) or Engineering, with prior experience and strong publication record in device fabrication.

POSTDOC POSITION in Reproductive Biology

Dr. Zuzana Holubcová lab (Department of Histology and Embryology in Masaryk University Campus Brno) studies multiple aspects of mammalian oocyte and embryo development with a special focus on human reproductive biology and assisted reproduction. The research has a strong translational impact due to long-standing collaboration with local reproductive medicine centres and strong links to IVF professionals.

The successful candidate should:


	Hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent, awarded within the past 7 years, AND have worked in research for at least 2 years of work, within the last 3 years, outside the Czech Republic (with a workload equivalent to at least 0.5 full-time employment)
	Alternatively, hold a Ph.D. diploma (or equivalent) from an international institution awarded within the past 3 years
	Demonstrate a publication record that includes a minimum of three research outputs (articles) within the past three years, surpassing the field's median standards, with at least two of them ranked in Q1 according to Web of Science.


Specific qualifications include:


	Exhibit a genuine passion for scientific exploration and a deep-seated curiosity
	While prior experience with oocyte/embryo/stem cells research is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement
	Possessing a robust foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, and or statistics/bioinformatics will be greatly advantageous
	Display exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative spirit
	Demonstrate strong organizational skills

Description

The Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist/ senior research scientist to support the center in conducting applied research in behavioral social science, undertaken in collaboration with local public and private partners. The research scientist/ senior research scientist will contribute to advancing the design of scientifically informed institutions and policies that have local impact, and improve economic outcomes and welfare.

The ideal candidate will be a well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, professional, equally capable of working alone and as part of a team, and hold a PhD in Economics with at least 5 years’ experience in their field along with extensive research and publication in well-known journals and conference paper. The position requires expertise in experimental, empirical, and/or theoretical methods. Candidates with research experience in the private or public sector are also encouraged to apply. Excellent communication skills in English, the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential.

Successful applicants are expected to work in the behavioral policy cluster of the center to design policy and institutions in close collaboration with the C-BID team (Nikos Nikiforakis, John Wooders, Olivier Bochet, and Ernesto Reuben) and the center's numerous partners.

The position provides a salary higher than internationally competitive rates for research scientist positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions. The UAE does not levy income tax.
