The Gheorghe Asachi Technical University, located in Iași, Romania, was founded in 1993 howeve,r it has links back to 1937 when it was the Gheorghe Asachi Polytechnic School.
Iași, is in the heart of Moldova. Students live in Tudor Vladimirescu, an 8,000 student campus that’s like a small city within the city.
Students can study a variety of subjects at undergraduate, graduate and PhD level within the following faculties: automatic control and computer engineering, chemical engineering and environmental protection, civil engineering and building services, machine manufacturing and industrial management, electronics, telecommunications and information technology, electrical engineering, hydrotechnics, geodesy and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, architecture and industrial design and business management.
The Gheorghe Asachi Technical University has strong ties with national and international businesses. Students have ended up as interns or employees at big companies like Microsoft, Delphi, Continental, Amazon and many others.
Students can choose to live on campus as there are 21 dormitories within the student campus, offering 8,000 places. The dormitories are within walking distance from Iulius Mall, which houses shops, restaurants, and a 3D cinema. There’s modern cafeterias, as well as health services and a comprehensive library.
There are sports and leisure facilities, modern and fully equipped gym halls, six playing fields, fitness and aerobic centre, and fields where students can play football, volleyball and basketball.
