An exciting opportunity exists for a Lecturer (Level B) in the area of Speech Pathology to join the School of Allied Health Science and Practice, within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to delivering our innovative Speech Pathology teaching and research programs with our inclusive, future-focused team.

The successful candidate will bring their skill, creativity and experience in developing and delivering education materials for the Speech Pathology Program and will play a pivotal role in teaching and research/scholarship at The University of Adelaide. The candidate will additionally contribute to the operational delivery of the Speech Pathology program and broader activities within the School of Allied Health Science and Practice and Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

To be successful, applicants will need:


	Completion of an Honours degree, higher qualifications or equivalent experience; and a Bachelor or Master’s qualifying degree in Speech Pathology, and clinical and/or research experience.
	Experience in curriculum development and in the delivery of high-quality, student-centred teaching as this relates to undergraduate speech pathology, or broader allied health programs.
	Demonstrated ability to incorporate contemporary approaches to teaching and learning into course delivery, including through using new technologies to support educational outcomes.
	Ability to implement successful research projects or activities, and experience with developing relationships and partnerships that foster successful research activities.
	Ability to supervise student research and/or other student project activities, including demonstrated skills in mentoring, planning, overseeing and delivering projects.
	Demonstrated commitment to the professional development of self and activities that support the Speech Pathology profession.

We are seeking two excellent academics to join our staff as Assistant Professor/Lecturer(s) in Management. The candidates appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students.

The appointees will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointees will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance and generate publications of international standard. 

Salary

Assistant Professor / Lecturer (2024): €62,855 – €99,533 p.a. (7 points)

Assistant Lecturer (2024): €40,682 – €69,887 p.a. (14 points)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

Job Requirements

About the Role

The Research Fellow (Agricultural Sustainability) will contribute to the ARC Research Hub for Smart Fertilisers by designing and conducting experiments to evaluate fertiliser products, developing bio-fertilisers, and quantifying nitrogen loss pathways using advanced techniques. This interdisciplinary role involves collaboration across research themes within the Hub, engaging with industry partners, and sharing findings through field days, workshops, and publications. The position also supports graduate researcher development and requires expertise in soil science, environmental science, and data analysis.

Your responsibilities will include:


	Significantly contribute towards the research effort of the team and to develop your research expertise with an increasing degree of autonomy.
	Under the guidance and support of Senior Academic staff conduct internationally competitive research, resulting in publications in high impact journals.
	Actively participate at Hub and School meetings and with guidance, contribute to planning activities or committee work to support capacity building in the School/discipline.
	Actively participate in research seminars and conferences to disseminate research findings as opportunities arise.


Who We Are Looking For

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary research teams and liaise with diverse stakeholders. Your strong organizational abilities will ensure you meet deadlines and complete projects efficiently.

Additionally, you bring a demonstrated aptitude for research, with a solid publication record and experience presenting to academic, industry and lay audiences.

You will also have:


	A PhD awarded in agriculture, soil science or closely related discipline.
	Demonstrated ability to prepare research reports and manuscripts for publication.
	Strong evidence of ability and desire to build an academic research career.
	Demonstrated ability to engage with relevant professional and industry bodies and stakeholders to foster collaborative partnerships.

The Organisation

The School of Health Sciences at UNSW is rapidly expanding to service education agendas based on our four ground-breaking health professional education programs. Why this role matters  

This position plays a key role in the school making a significant contribution to the development and delivery of pharmacy education in the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Medicine / Master of Pharmacy program. As a teaching and research academic, there is expectation of ongoing research and emerging profile as an independent researcher.

Some key skills required:

Level B – Education 

Registration with AHPRA as a pharmacist (highly desirable) PhD in pharmacy or related discipline Demonstrated experience in integrating the teaching of medicinal chemistry with therapeutics Demonstrated experience in learning and teaching/delivery of courses at an undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, evidence of teaching effectiveness Experience of implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods Demonstrated ability to integrate the teaching of pharmaceutical sciences with therapeutics and pharmacy practice Level C – Education (in addition to the above)

Apply a well-defined teaching philosophy and a critically reflective practice that inspires student learning. Attract peer recognition and establish research network/s (based on the norms of the discipline) at national level. Obtain research income from nationally competitive research grants (and/or research fellowships) and research end-users as a member or leader (may include education research/funding), at or above the level that is relevant to the discipline in leading universities.
