Level A (Associate Lecturer)

About the Role

As an Associate Lecturer, you’ll play a key role in shaping the learning experience within the College, contributing to the delivery of cutting-edge, innovative teaching practices and technologies.

Working under the guidance of senior academics, you’ll be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging course content, while helping to foster a collaborative, inclusive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your academic career, make an impact in the field of Aboriginal Health, and contribute to the development of future health professionals.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Evidence of contributing to teaching and the scholarship of teaching at the discipline level, including involvement in curriculum development and teaching methodology
	Experience applying innovative approaches to pedagogy and/or curriculum design
	Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and students
	Demonstrated experience in communicating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, key stakeholders, and their representatives to achieve positive outcomes
	Familiarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues and an understanding of the social determinants of health as they impact Indigenous Australians
	Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is recognised as such by an appropriate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander body, preferably with experience of Katherine Big Rivers Region Indigenous cultures.


Level B (Lecturer)

As a Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of teaching and learning in this vital field. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of our curriculum, while driving innovation in teaching practices and technologies.

In this role, you’ll independently design, deliver, and enhance course content, ensuring the highest standards of education while fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives and cultural practices. Your work will contribute to the scholarship of teaching and help empower the next generation of students.

About You

To be successful in this role you will exhibit:


	Completion of a PhD OR community cultural recognition plus completion or near completion of a postgraduate degree or substantive experience in some branch of Indigenous studies/education
	Successful and independent innovation in learning and teaching delivery or design, including use of e-learning technologies, in the areas of Indigenous health issues, cultural safety, primary health care and population health.
	Demonstrated contribution to academic quality assurance processes, such as topic or course reviews
	Experience or capability to engage with students (and deliver teaching modules) via online learning platforms, related to Central Australian Indigenous knowledges and cultural practices
	Established relationships with Indigenous communities, groups and organisations within Central Australia, including the ability to lead community consultation
	Experience with engagement within a relevant external professional domain and within a wider community context at local or national level which could include working parties, committees, professional associations and conferenced workshops.

About Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT

At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory.  We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health.

Dr. Zuzana Holubcová lab (Department of Histology and Embryology in Masaryk University Campus Brno) studies multiple aspects of mammalian oocyte and embryo development with a special focus on human reproductive biology and assisted reproduction. The research has a strong translational impact due to long-standing collaboration with local reproductive medicine centres and strong links to IVF professionals.

The successful candidate should:


	Hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent, awarded within the past 7 years, AND have worked in research for at least 2 years of work, within the last 3 years, outside the Czech Republic (with a workload equivalent to at least 0.5 full-time employment)
	Alternatively, hold a Ph.D. diploma (or equivalent) from an international institution awarded within the past 3 years

Our mission is to nurture leading data scientists through an interdisciplinary curriculum that fosters ethical, critical and strategic thinking. The SDS comprises two divisions: the Division of Artificial Intelligence and the Division of Industrial Data Science, as well as the LEO Dr David P. Chan Institute of Data Science.

The LEO Dr. David P. Chan Institute of Data Science (https://www.ln.edu.hk/sds/leodcids/home) aims to (i) provide education service; (ii) empower researchers; (iii) cultivate new collaborations, and (iv) perform academic research in some selected areas of data science.

The appointee will join the LEO Dr. David P. Chan Institute of Data Science and will be expected to:


	carry out research and submit papers to top journals in the field of large vision models or large language models. Additionally, the appointee will be responsible for submitting grant proposals to various funding bodies. Furthermore, the appointee will have the opportunity to organize conferences, seminars, reading groups, workshops, and other related research activities;
	play a central role in the daily operation of the upcoming new Taught Postgraduate programme(s) offered by the Division of Artificial Intelligence/ LEO Dr. David P. Chan Institute of Data Science. The teaching load will be two courses per year, distributed according to the needs of the Institute and upon mutual agreement. English will be the medium of instruction. The appointee will also be required to supervise students’ projects or thesis; and
	perform administrative duties as assigned by the Director of the LEO Dr. David P. Chan Institute of Data Science.


General Requirements

Candidates should have (i) a PhD degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant discipline; (ii) a good command of both English and Chinese; (iii) a strong publication record in the top-tier journals/conferences in the relevant field; and (iv) experience in developing external competitive research proposals. Candidates with a good teaching record will be an advantage.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. The role

To research and develop software modules, tools and API for a project that aims to create a secure decentralised data marketplace based on distributed ledger technology, web technologies and AI.

The role will focus on developing solutions to address barriers to information and data exchange such as data quality and interoperability, and efficient processing and management of time-series datasets and metadata originating from IoT sources (such as environment sensors and meters) closer to the data provider at the edge, rather than the cloud, which will require innovation in compute efficiency and scalability. 

The role will also focus on IoT data engineering, analysis and management, improve data quality through data and machine learning processing pipelines. It will also focus on developing AI algorithms for semantically enriching data assets with domain knowledge, which feed into building knowledge graphs, search and discovery mechanisms.

The outputs will be integrated and validated against a set of real-world IoT use cases.

About you

A talent for technical problem solving is a must. You will encounter a wide range of technologies and data and will be given many opportunities to develop further your skills.

You will be responsible in contributing to iterative deliverables for the project such as technical reports, software integrations and source code releases. You will also be expected to travel abroad for project meetings and dissemination events. This is a collaborative project and will require you to actively liaise with other organisations.

Essential


	A PhD in Computer Science or Engineering (other closely related area) or and MSc with experience. 
	Experience with programming in Python, Java, or JavaScript in the context of data and metadata management and analysis for web-based solutions.
	Experience in Data engineering, analysis and management workflows for times-series (tabular, structured) data.
	Experience in developing workflows for metadata management, which can involve schema modelling, formatting, annotation, enrichment, search and discovery.
	Experience in Machine Learning model development/optimisation and workflows for time-series (tabular, structured) data, and for (generative) metadata enrichment.
	Experience with tools for source code management, automation pipelines for software development and machine learning processes, and deployment.
	Experience with virtualisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
	Experience in technical and report writing for software-based projects.
	Strong critical thinking skills and ability to develop innovative solutions.
	Ability to communicate effectively and work efficiently within a research and development team. 
	Ability to take initiative, learn how to use the necessary tools for the research, and work independently, and collaboratively for integration tasks.


 Desirable


	An PhD in Computer Science or Engineering.
	Contributions to peer-reviewed publications, or other similar output.
	Experience with developing tools for linked or graph-based data.
