The Federal University, Dutsin-Ma is one of nine new federal universities created in 2011 to ease the pressure of numbers on other institutions.
Federal University, Dutsin-Ma serves Katsina state in the north-west of Nigeria.
The university has two campuses - one on the north side of Dutsin-Ma and a second, main site 15 miles away.
Students are divided between faculties of agriculture and agricultural technology, arts, education, engineering and technology, life sciences, management science, physical science and social science.
A women’s hostel opened in November 2021 and plans for an on-campus mobile police barracks. Plans were announced in April 2022 for a network of five study centres – in Malumfashe, Charanchi, Funtua, Davra and Katsina.
