Fatima Jinnah Medical University is based in Lahore and is names after the sister of the founder of modern Pakistan.
The university was first established in 1941 and attained university status in 2015 and is the only medical university in Pakistan offering an MBBS exclusively for women.
The university has faculties in basic sciences, anatomy, pharmacology, biochemistry, pathology, community medicine, physiology, forensic medicine, medicine and surgery. Students also have the opportunity to specialise in a range of clinical areas including cardiology, dermatology and neurology among others.
Associated hospitals include the 954-bed Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and the first Mother and Child Hospital in Pakistan’s public sector.
The university has a sports club and a library.
