Ethiopian Civil Service University was founded in 1995 to support the transformation drive of the Ethiopian Civil Service within the context of the country’s development policies and strategies. The university aims to build the capacity of the civil service at both federal and regional levels through specialise education, training and research programmes.
The university is located in Addis Ababa, the capital and largest city of Ethiopia.
Academically, the university is organised into three colleges: the college of urban development and engineering, college of finance, management and development, and the college of leadership and governance. Within each college are a number of departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes that students can choose from.
The university has developed a number of partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. Its partners include the Beijing Foreign Studies University, the French National School of Administration, and the Canadian Foundation for International Training.
Research is carried out throughout the academic year in two dedicated research centres: the Centre for Public Reform and the Centre for Ethics and Integrity in Public Service.
