This role is crucial in ensuring that staff and students have seamless online access to self-service support materials for all iSolutions systems and services.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that our Knowledge Base is comprehensive, user-friendly, and continuously updated. You will have a crucial role in meeting the evolving needs of our university community.

What you’ll do

You will be working closely with Service Owners and Support Teams to maximise the value and use of the Knowledge Base. You will promote its awareness and use and review all associated processes and procedures:

Producing / coordinating the production of new articles and forms 

Keeping the existing articles and forms relevant and up to date 

Continually improving the portal and knowledge service making use of new technologies as they arise 

You will have an active role in making recommendations and implementing the agreed changes.

What you’ll bring

The role

An exciting opportunity for a part-time research assistant to work on a Dunhill Medical Trust funded project developing materials to train a link worker to work with middle-aged and older adults with cerebral palsy has arisen. As part of this role you will work closely with our project partners UP – The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement (https://upmovement.org.uk/) and a team of clinicians and researchers based at UCLH, Brunel University London, and The University of Sussex.

The role involves mapping literature on ageing with cerebral palsy and searching for community organisations who could support people with cerebral palsy in North Central London. You will also support with the co-designing of training materials for a specialised link worker, helping draft an ethics application and assist in developing engaging materials to share our project outcomes with the public. Finally, you will support with the analysis of interview data. You will also work closely with expert advisory groups and stakeholders to ensure an impactful project. 

The position is available starting January 2025 at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, under the supervision of Dr Kimberley Smith and Dr Erica Ranzato.

About you

A BSc in psychology, gerontology, disability studies, sociology or health sciences is desirable, though we would consider other relevant backgrounds. Department Description

The School of Advanced Technology has five departments (intelligent Science, Computing, Mechatronics and Robotics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Communications and networking). Responsibilities and Duties

The position of Professor is crucial to the effective operation of XJTLU. Departments are the fundamental building blocks of the university, and the Professor is the role model of academic staff. The Professor is reported directly to the Head of their department. The Professor is a key research leader, manager, and administrator. The term of appointment is three years.

Supporting its rapid expansion, SAT now seeks to appoint senior faculty to join the EEE department. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior academic and established researcher to become part of a young, fast-growing, and internationally recognized institution situated in the heart of one of China’s most innovative and entrepreneurial economic areas. XJTLU is a research-led university. In this context, even though the workload of faculty in SAT is generally shared between teaching, research, and service, faculty members are expected to spend the majority of their time on research, followed by teaching, then service. Research performance in the School is benchmarked on internationally recognized lists of journal quality such as the CAS JCR Q1 journals.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

The successful applicant should preferably possess the following attributes: 


	Curriculum design and programme development experience, 
	Teaching and/or research interest in nanoelectronic materials and fabrication, microelectronic devices and circuits, and semiconductor science & technology
	Engagement with professional community, 
	Professional memberships such as IET, ACM, IEEE and HEA;
	Strong knowledge / experience in international higher education. Ideally hold the rank of Professor.


Compensation Package

Members of Academic Staff receive generous subsidies for accommodation, travel, children’s education, and medical insurance. A relocation allowance is provided. Non-Chinese passport holders may qualify for multi-year income tax “holidays”, depending on nationality and tax residency.

Citizenship and Visa Regulations

Employment at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is regulated by Chinese Labour Laws, and must comply with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal employment with regard to obtaining work permits and visas.  Please be advised candidates over 60 may be not eligible for a work visa in the P.R.
