Description

The Trabolsi Research Group at New York University Abu Dhabi invites applications for a post-doctoral associate position focused on the development of covalent organic frameworks (COFs)-based adsorbents and membranes for advanced water purification technologies.

The successful candidate will lead innovative research aimed at optimizing the application of COFs in water purification, with a particular focus on removing emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from water. This project will involve the directed synthesis of COF structures tailored for the selective removal of specific contaminants, followed by comprehensive studies of their molecular interactions with various emerging pollutants.

Key Responsibilities:


	Design and synthesize COFs with specific properties for targeted contaminant removal.
	Develop and optimize methods for using COF-based materials in water treatment systems, including adsorption columns and membrane technologies.
	Conduct experiments using techniques such as batch adsorption protocols, adsorption columns, membrane cells, and electrochemical water decontamination.
	Analyze and interpret data from these techniques to refine and improve COF performance in real-world applications.
	Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of PhD scientists, graduate students, and undergraduates, contributing to a dynamic and collaborative research environment.


Qualifications:


	PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
	Extensive experience in the synthesis and characterization of covalent organic frameworks, particularly as they relate to water treatment applications.
	Strong background in experimental techniques relevant to the project, including experience with porous frameworks in water purification systems.
	Proficiency in analytical techniques used to characterize materials and their interactions with contaminants.
	A proven track record of interdisciplinary research and collaboration in materials science and engineering is preferred.

The University of Southampton is inviting applications for a Research Fellow/ Senior Research Assistant in the area of homelessness and psychology. The successful candidate will join the Centre for Homelessness Research and Practice, located in the School of Psychology.

The Centre for Homelessness Research and Practice knits together research, education, training, and practice. It hosts a regional community of practice across the South East of England, as well as working with national and international partners. The Centre engages in policy engagement, addressing the complexity of homelessness by considering the interaction of individual and systemic factors. 

The successful applicant will undertake research in evaluating the effectiveness/impact of a large project aiming to increase psychological knowledge and expertise within the homelessness sector under the supervision of the award holder, and contribute administrative tasks related to the setting up of an community of practice subgroup focused on climate change and homelessness, as well as undertaking leadership, management and engagement activities.

The ideal candidate will have a track record in at least one of the following research areas: 

Developing and carrying out service evaluations

Homelessness and marginalised populations

Carrying out administrative tasks associated with specific research funding

Developing a community of practice

Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.

This post is part time 10.5 hours per week and for a fixed term contract until 31/03/2026

POSTDOC POSITION in Reproductive Biology

Dr. Zuzana Holubcová lab (Department of Histology and Embryology in Masaryk University Campus Brno) studies multiple aspects of mammalian oocyte and embryo development with a special focus on human reproductive biology and assisted reproduction. The research has a strong translational impact due to long-standing collaboration with local reproductive medicine centres and strong links to IVF professionals.

The successful candidate should:


	Hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent, awarded within the past 7 years, AND have worked in research for at least 2 years of work, within the last 3 years, outside the Czech Republic (with a workload equivalent to at least 0.5 full-time employment)
	Alternatively, hold a Ph.D. diploma (or equivalent) from an international institution awarded within the past 3 years
	Demonstrate a publication record that includes a minimum of three research outputs (articles) within the past three years, surpassing the field's median standards, with at least two of them ranked in Q1 according to Web of Science.


Specific qualifications include:


	Exhibit a genuine passion for scientific exploration and a deep-seated curiosity
	While prior experience with oocyte/embryo/stem cells research is beneficial, it is not a mandatory requirement
	Possessing a robust foundation in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, and or statistics/bioinformatics will be greatly advantageous
	Display exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative spirit
	Demonstrate strong organizational skills

Masaryk University

The Infectious Disease and Epidemiology Research group in the School of Clinical and Experimental Sciences wish to appoint two Research Facilitators to help support the technical aspects of research activities and to assist with the day to day running of research studies undertaken by the group. The research group is based within the Faculty of Medicine at Southampton General Hospital.

Our group is undertaking a number of projects looking at the epidemiology of respiratory pathogens. Applications are invited from those with relevant experience of laboratory based microbiology and experience of research governance. Experience of bacterial identification is desirable. These posts are full-time but consideration will be given to those who wish to work part-time. Applicants must be available to work with some flexibility.
