Delta State University, Abraka was originally a Government Teachers’ Training College. In 1981, the university gained an affiliation with the University of Benin, and started offering degree programmes. Delta State University, as it is known today, was established in 1992.
The university has four campuses across Nigeria: the main campus at Abraka, and secondary campuses at Anwai, Asaba, and Oleh.
The university offers a range of academic programs including: undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, full-time certificates, diplomas, part-time evening and weekend programmes. There are 11 faculties in total, including: agriculture, art, basic medical sciences, clinical sciences, education, engineering, law, management sciences, sciences, pharmacy, and social sciences.
Students at Delta State can take advantage of the facilities around campus, including an E-learning centre, student accommodation, and a range of sports facilities.
