The Curriculum & Digital Innovation (CDI) team at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN, King’s College London), is meeting the growing demand for blended and online learning material. Our team works with world-class academics to design and develop blended and online courses, programmes and learning experiences.

About The Role

We are looking for a Media Producer to join us. Reporting to the Creative Media Manager of CDI, the role holder will be responsible for video and audio production.

The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of media production from building stakeholder relationships to understanding the full production process to creating online deliverables. You will be comfortable working with video and audio production both in the studio and on-location, as well as remotely. Technical proficiency with industry-standard AV equipment and Adobe Creative Cloud applications is essential. 

As a Media Producer, you will be responsible for interpreting client briefs, advising on the suitable medium for the audience and objectives, conceptualising media solutions for client approval, and taking ownership of the full production process. This includes tasks such as, filming and directing, writing and reviewing scripts, recording audio, editing video and audio, post-production, and creating other content, such as podcasts.

The successful candidate will need to work well alone as well as part of a team. Strong organisational skills, confidence in building stakeholder relationships, collaboration, and clear communication skills are key for this position. 

The role is primarily based at the CDI Studios located on the Denmark Hill campus, although occasional travel to other campuses may be required. We have one fully equipped filming studio and two additional studios for the development of podcasts and self-recording of audio/visual content.

As part of King’s hybrid working model, all team members can work remotely two or three days a week if they wish. 

This is a full-time post - 100% full-time equivalent (35 Hours per week). This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: 

Essential criteria


	Proven experience and skills in video and audio production (directing, filming, and editing)
	High level of proficiency in using Adobe Creative Cloud software for video and audio editing (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder and Audition) 
	A solid understanding of studio, on-location, and remote AV production techniques 
	Experience in working collaboratively with clients to identify appropriate solutions to a media brief  
	Competent at prioritising workload and managing multiple projects 
	Excellent organisation and communication skills 
	Educated to degree level or similar working experience


Desirable criteria


	Experience of content creation in a higher educational environment   
	Experience producing content for social media 
	Skills in photography and Adobe Lightroom 
	Knowledge of task management tools, processes, and methodologies

Minimum

Overview of the Role

ATU is a new Technological University in the west and northwest of Ireland formed from the merger of three Institutes of Technology in 2022. The Faculty of Science and Health is developing a new programme of study in Veterinary Medicine with a view to welcoming the first cohort of students in September 2025. This programme will complement existing programmes in Veterinary Nursing and Agriculture and increase the provision of Veterinary Medicine education in Ireland. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join the Veterinary Medicine programme team and to shape veterinary medicine education provision in Ireland.

Duties

The Lecturer will play an active role in the academic direction of courses including teaching, research, academic assessment and academic administration. The appointee should carry out such duties as are assigned to them in accordance with collective agreements arrived at from time to time and authorised by the Minister including but not limited to:


	Teaching such assigned classes as deemed appropriate by the management of the Technological University, day or evening, up to 560 hours per annum including supervision of post-graduate students where appropriate. There will be a norm of 16 class contact hours per week, 
	Carrying out assessment, monitoring and evaluation of examinations work, and providing an academic and consultative support to students in their learning activities;
	Providing academic input on existing and new courses and course development; and course co-ordination;
	Engaging in research, consultancy and development work as appropriate;
	Participating in committees appropriate to courses and meetings convened by management;
	Maintaining appropriate records and making available information as required by management;
	Engaging in promotion including student recruitment as appropriate;
	Promoting scholarship;
	Participating in the development, implementation and maintenance of academic quality assurance arrangements;
	Participating in appropriate activities necessary to the development of their department/school and of the Technological University;
	Directing and supervising the work of Tutor/Demonstrator and taking academic responsibility for the academic standards of this work. .


The performance of these duties will require attendance in addition to class contact hours during the normal working week.

The appointee shall carry out the lawful instructions of the President  (or Nominee) and comply with the requirements and regulations of the Minister.

Salary

Lecturer Salary Scale €66,252 – €102,509

Candidates may be considered for incremental credit above point 1 of the scale for previous relevant industry experience in accordance with University Policy.

Where an assistant Lecturer or lecturer currently employed in a Technological University/Institute of Technology is appointed to a post that is lower than the current grade, then the starting salary shall be the salary point which is equal to or immediately above the point currently held on the present grade or the maximum of the new scale – whichever is the lesser – and he/she shall retain his/her existing incremental date.

The selected candidate will join Dr. Godwin Aleku's research team at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, part of the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences at King’s College London. Dr. Aleku’s biocatalysis and enzyme engineering group focuses on creating sustainable, enzyme-based methods for pharmaceutical synthesis and exploring the role of biocatalysis in drug discovery.

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (IPS) at King’s College London is renowned for its achievements in chemical biology and medicinal chemistry, with many successful projects advancing from the lab to clinical application. IPS offers a cutting-edge research environment that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, biosciences, and pharmaceutical sciences.

About the role

We are seeking to hire a Research Assistant in biocatalysis for an EPSRC-funded project focused on developing enzymatic CO2-fixing enzymes to support sustainable pharmaceutical synthesis. The successful candidate will be involved in cloning, expressing, and biochemically characterising a wide range of biocatalysts for use in organic synthesis. Candidates should hold a degree or Master's in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or Biochemistry, with demonstrated experience in working with enzymes, enzyme expression, and characterisation, as well as analytical techniques for monitoring enzymatic reactions.

This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 12 months until 28th February 2026.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria 


	A degree in Chemistry/Chemical Biology/Biochemistry or a related subject with at least six months of wet lab experience.
	Experience with molecular biology.
	Experience with enzyme expression and characterisation.
	Experience with analytical chemistry and spectroscopic techniques for monitoring reactions e.g. UV/Vis absorbance/fluorescence, HPLC/LCMS and GC/GCMS, NMR.
	Ability to work collaboratively within a team and to work independently, with minimal supervision.  
	Desirable criteria
	A Master's degree in Chemistry/Chemical Biology/Biochemistry or a related subject with at least six months wet lab experience 
	Experience in Enzyme Engineering
