CBS International Business School was established as a private business school in 1993, in Germany’s fourth-most populous city of Cologne.
The school’s students come from 75 different countries.
The university was one of the first German universities to offer the bachelor’s degree. It now offers bachelors degrees, masters degrees, MBAs, doctorates and part-time courses, as well as Prep4University and pre-master courses, giving higher education students many different options. Teaching is done in small groups with intensive supervision from staff.
Courses available at the university include business; culture and management; tourism management; media management; business psychology; industrial and organisational psychology and marketing management among others.
CBS International Business School has a plethora of extra-curricular activities on offer for students, from student parliament to Founders Factory, working to prepare students for promising careers after university.
The university has an extensive intramural sports programme offering team and individual sports, self-defense, fitness, as well as outdoor activities such as sail planing and horseback riding.
It was the first business school in Germany to receive accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). Other notable accreditations include the Sciences and Humanity Council, FIBAA and the NRW Ministry of Science. It is connected to around 120 universities across the globe and has links to multi-national companies such as Ford, DB Schenker, and Price-Waterhouse-Cooper.
Cologne itself is one of the largest student towns in Germany with almost 100,000 students, making it an attractive place to study. There are many interesting landmarks that students can visit including the Cologne Cathedral and the seven bridges that connect the city.
