The rumors about the death of Analog electronics are premature, as Analog just went Programmatic. If you are willing to learn how to design Analog microelectronics by developing optimization procedures for parametrized implementations with Python, here is an opportunity for you to join the programmatic hardware design activities of Aalto Microelectronics Research Center (https://metka.aalto.fi). 

Analog building blocks are needed in every piece of microelectronics and Systems-on-Chip, like digital circuitry and microprocessors. Programmatic design methodology aims to provide parametrized and procedurally optimized analog building blocks for these needs. Berkeley Analog Generator is a design environment recently developed in University of Berkeley which enables analog circuit design by programmatic means. In Aalto we are looking for pioneers with enthusiasm to learn to take this new methodology into use. If you want to be a game changer, this is your moment.

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work with us on this area of research.

Successful execution of the work requires fluent unix working habits, Git version control, shell scripting and Python programming, complemented with doctoral level knowledge of analog design tools and methodology added with strong theoretical understanding about optimization algorithms. Topic focuses on implementation of analog building blocks for A/D converters, sensor interfaces, 5G mmWave circuits, radio transmitters and receivers according to your preferences, within the scopes of our research projects. The position is appropriate for post-docs eager to learn, and willingness to develop the circuits and design methodologies of the future. Minimum entry criteria is D.Sc. or PhD degree in microelectronics design and working proficiency in English.

The starting salary is approximately 4000 eur/month depending on the experience. The position will be filled for 1-3 years. The salary will be based on both the job requirements and the employee’s personal performance in accordance with the salary system of Finnish universities.  We offer a wide range of staff benefits, such as occupational health care, flexible working hours, excellent sports facilities on campus and several restaurants and cafés on campus with staff discounts. The University of Sydney, Charles Perkins Centre - The University is seeking to employ a Research Fellow to support the multi-disciplinary research team in the Charles Perkins Centre's Theme of Physical Activity. The incumbent will lead a program of incidental physical activity in socioeconomically diverse populations, as well as aspects of the ProPASS consortium health improvement in, Exercise and Energy Expenditure Theme, led by Professor Emmanuel Stamatakis. The position is located at Charles Perkins Centre, a leading multidisciplinary research institute of the University of Sydney.

Your key responsibilities will be to:


	Lead physical activity interventions, including ethics approvals, recruitment, data collection, analyses and manuscript preparation
	lead co-design and community involvement work
	provide leadership to the Prospective Physical Activity, Sitting, and Sleep consortium (ProPASS)
	provide leadership of epidemiological publications on physical activity, sleep, and other behaviors
	provide regular contributions to physical activity measurement related studies included in the above program of research.
	significantly contribute to successful applications for competitive research grants and/ or funding to deliver research impact
	work under the supervision of academic staff
	typically conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision, either independently, or as a member of a team
	undertake administration primarily relating to staff member's activities at the University
	maintain quality, standards and excellence in all research activities and outputs
	Work out-of-office hours, as the needs of the multiple international collaboration the above program entails dictates.


About you


	PHD in relevant field
	experience with intervention design, co-design and evaluation, particularly within physical activity or health behaviour change settings
	strong expertise in qualitative research methods, including conducting interviews and thematic analysis
	experience working with diverse socioeconomic groups and/or research addressing health inequalities
	familiarity with ProPASS or similar international consortia
	background in behavioral interventions related to physical activity, sedentary behavior, or sleep
	solid understanding of epidemiological methods and study designs (e.g., cohort studies, prospective studies)
	expertise in physical activity, sedentary behavior, and/or sleep research and their associations with health outcomes
	experience with biostatistics and working with large population-based datasets
	strong track record of peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields
	experience in writing research grants and preparing reports for stakeholders or funding agencies.

The role

An exciting opportunity for a Postdoc Graduate to work at the University of Surrey in the area of complex networks, and threat intelligence, focusing on advanced persistent threats (APTs) on 5G networks (O-RAN).

The post holder will join the team of researchers working on network security, prediction and learning on O-RAN (5G/6G) networks, and research sub-projects.  The primary responsibility for this post is to develop Reinforcement Learning models, off the back of observations of data traffic on the O-RAN of the core network, and produce optimal response strategies. The project work entails building a Digital Twin for extensive simulations of realistic APT attacks on the O-RAN (of the 5G/6G ICS at Surrey).

About you

 We are looking for applicants that demonstrate strong research and analytical skills, have strong communication skills and enthusiasm for developing their own research ideas. Applicants should also have a good understanding of the 5G core network, threat intelligence as well as software engineering good practice. Familiarity with python (pytorch, tensorflow) and open source 5G testbeds would be an advantage.
