The Faculty of Law at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK LAW) is among the most dynamic and accomplished law schools in Asia. Since welcoming its inaugural cohort in 2006, CUHK LAW’s achievements in research and education have been internationally recognized. This recognition is further reflected in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (2020) conducted by the Hong Kong University Grants Committee, where CUHK LAW’s research strength was underscored by an impressive 83% of its research activities being rated as “world-leading” (4*) or “internationally significant” (3*). With a strong global outlook, our academic staff represent nearly twenty jurisdictions through their origins or training.

CUHK LAW is now inviting applications for appointment(s) as Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor. Those appointed at the Professor level are expected to have an established record of academic leadership in research or education at an international level. Appointees at the Associate Professor level should possess an internationally recognized reputation for excellence in research or education. Appointees at the Assistant Professor level are expected to have completed their doctorate by the starting date and should either possess a track record of high-quality published research or demonstrate clear potential to achieve such a record.

Subject areas of particular interest include, though are not limited to: Artificial Intelligence and Law, Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property Law, Legal History, PRC Law, Sustainability and Law, and foundational common law subjects. Highly qualified candidates with research or teaching expertise beyond these areas are also encouraged to apply. CUHK LAW appreciates scholarship that embraces diverse methodologies, including interdisciplinary approaches.

About the Role

The Digital Learning Developer is responsible for updating and maintaining Themes in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), customising CSS, HTML and Javascript to ensure a consistent, responsive, accessible and visually appealing user experience.

Your roles and responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to):


	Develop new custom components and Canvas themes for sustainable design and enhanced user experience
	Integrate web languages (JSON, HTML5 and CSS) and scripting language (JavaScript) with other media files to customise course shells and features in Canvas LMS.
	Support the Digital Team in setting up, quality checking and maintaining courses in the Learning Management System (LMS) to support successful go-live for each of our teaching periods
	Take responsibility for LMS administration duties including roll-over of courses, maintenance of blueprint/master courses course versioning
	Act as first point of contact for Canvas troubleshooting.
	Work with Learning Designers and follow specifications to develop custom learning assets to support learner engagement and outcomes.
	Leverage a range of technologies to support innovative and impactful teaching practice via the organisation's digital platforms and channels.
	Support the maintenance and development of the team knowledge base and processes relating to the LMS, our learning design system, onboarding, training, and other documentation
	Continually improve and upgrade the code base following industry best practice to achieve maintainable code that optimises performance and adheres to Accessibility standards.


About You

To be successful in this position you will have:

Essential


	Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Information Technology, Education, Digital Learning, or a related field.
	Previous experience in LMS development/administration role, preferably within the education industry.
	Proficient in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and working knowledge of backend technologies (Python, Django)
	Experience working with LMS (preferably Canvas) and student management systems in an educational environment, including experience working with Canvas themes and GitHub
	Experience integrating languages (JSON, HTML5 and CSS) and scripting language (JavaScript) with other media files to customise course shells and features within the LMS
	Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design


Desirable


	Previous experience in the international education sector
	Knowledge of digital pedagogy
	Experience with SCORM and XAPI standards for tracking learner activity, and familiarity with a Learning Record Store (LRS)
	Experience using Canvas API

The Widening Participation and Social Mobility (WPSM) directorate is excited to be recruiting for a Head of Student Success maternity cover until the end of 2025. The post is directly responsible for the strategic oversight of our Student Inclusion Team that leads projects with students underrepresented in higher education, focused on closing awarding gaps and supporting progression. It is also responsible for our Financial Support Team that looks after all central, targeted financial support allocated through our Access and Participation Plan and our US Federal Loans scheme.

Leading a department of Success practitioners, the Head of Success will be responsible for the successful delivery of our £6 million financial support provision which includes bursaries, hardship funds and cost of living initiatives as well as our Ignite Your Success Programme, our innovative alumni funded programme working with students from the most disadvantaged areas of the UK. You will also have key oversight of our Awarding Gap project working with Black and minoritised students as well as our targeted support for Care Experienced and Estranged students and mature learners. Focused on improving the experience and retention of students underrepresented in higher education, this role is integral to the fulfilment of our Access and Participation Plan, which launched in 2024.

Building on the work already in place you will be working closely with the Director and Associate Director of Widening Participation and Social Mobility to develop our provision in line with new guidance from the Office for Students. The ideal candidate will have experience of leading activity in a higher education institution, with an in-depth knowledge of Widening Participation policy. You will be an experienced leader who is able to develop strong relationships both within the university and at a sector level and able to create initiatives which mitigate risks to equality of opportunity. About the role

As an integral member of our team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of units within psychology at undergraduate and graduate levels. You will also supervise students undertaking psychology placement within FedCare Psychology Services and contribute to the Institutes administrative functions.

	provide leadership in developing, teaching, coordinating, and moderating units in psychology;
	undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
	supervise students undertaking project units, honours courses and research higher degrees; and
	contribute to the management of the onsite clinic


About you

You will work as part of the institutes team of academic and administrative staff. You will possess proven educational, research and professional experience and seek to embed long and short-term research strategies for the institute within the strategic framework of the University and in accordance with its mission. You will be a creative thinker and avid problem solver, who possesses initiative, innovation, and a can-do attitude.

You will possess:


	general registration as a psychologist, clinical endorsement, and Board Approved supervisor status with AHPRA;
	demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for teaching and learning;
	capacity to teach foundation skills for clinical practice;
	capacity to support students completing placement; and
	ability to conduct and disseminate psychological research.
