Barawa International University is a private university located in Somalia. It was formed in 2018 specialising in the fields of natural science, arts, social sciences, and humanities. The university has three campuses in the region, including: Mogadishu, Barawa City, and Merca.
Students can choose from bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and must pass an entrance exam in the admission process.
Undergraduate students complete a foundation year programme with an emphasis on English language skills development, mathematics and computers. After students have completed their foundation studies, they can choose courses from six main faculties including: medicine and health sciences, engineering and technology, social sciences and humanities, business studies and economics, economic and political sciences, and Islamic studies.
Having launched in 2018, the university’s graduate school specialises in the social sciences. Graduate students can choose to study a master’s Degree through distance learning in a range of disciplines including: planning and management, public administration and policy making, business administration, development studies, human resources, and health sciences and nutrition.
