Bakhtar University, founded in 2005, is based in the capital city of Afghanistan, Kabul.
Bakhtar University offers undergraduate degrees within the following subject areas: computer science, journalism, law and political science, civil engineering and business administration.
While students looking to progress their study further can study master's programmes in business administration and computer science. In addition, some degree programmes are offered in the English language.
To establish itself as a research institution, Bakhtar University launched the Bakhtar University Journal, which publishes a variety of scientific-research articles. Their mission is to publish research papers of high impact factor, organise and host national and international workshops and conferences, and attract leading academics to the university. In addition, the Journal intends to encourage research activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
To help prepare students for life after university, Bakhtar University has a career centre on campus. The aim is to prepare students for interviews as well as organising job placements during academic study.
On campus, students will find a library, on-campus housing and sport facilities. There are plenty of different sports teams including: football, athletics and basketball.
Bakhtar University also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad. These relations have also paved the way for faculty exchange and advanced research opportunities. Partnered universities include Tallinn University (Estonia) Shimla University (India) and American International College (US).
