About the Role  

As the Lecturer in Primary Science and Mathematics Education, you are responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of courses within UniSA Education Futures undergraduate and postgraduate programs. You will contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and as a member of the team, resulting in quality publications in both academic refereed and professional journals.

Essential Skills and Experience  


	PhD qualification in Science and/or Mathematics Education in the primary and/or middle years of schooling 
	Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources for Science and/or Mathematics Education in the primary and/or middle years of schooling  
	Demonstrated commitment to establishing a program of research that demonstrates growing publication record, and experience in the preparation of research grant applications and success in attracting research income commensurate with opportunity  
	Demonstrated ability in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies (including digital techniques) required for effective curriculum delivery

Description

The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Research Assistant to work on the development of high sensitivity integrated photonics sensors in Silicon Photonics (SiPh) platform.

The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on the development of smart optical sensors for environmental monitoring in the oil & gas industry. Our photonics research lab within the CSEM has set modern tools for the design, testing, and optimization of photonic circuits. It is open for collaboration with researchers with a background in basic research to investigate new optical circuits and materials with specific optical, electrical, and mechanical properties. The focus of this research project is related to advanced optoelectronics materials for sensing applications. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students.

About the Role

Flinders University is seeking an Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator to join their team within the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement.

The Indigenous Community Partnerships and Pathways Coordinator (ICPPC) will work to raise the profile of the University to prospective Indigenous students by facilitating partnerships with Indigenous community organisations, schools and educational programs. The successful candidate will manage a small team of staff, coordinate partnerships with pathways stakeholders, contribute to the development of an Indigenous Recruitment Strategy, and develop an annual calendar of recruitment activities and events that promote access to Flinders University pathways.

The successful candidate will also:


	Act as a key liaison point and subject matter expert regarding pathways into Flinders University including the Indigenous Admission Scheme, scholarship and accommodation.
	Foster sustainable relationships with an extensive network of internal and external stakeholders.
	Evaluate and analyse key statistics on applications and enrolments of students in order to provide input into recruitment strategies and activities.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have:


	PhD degree in Biochemistry or Cell Biology or related areas.
	Extensive experience in tertiary teaching in the following areas: biochemistry, cell biology, molecular genetics/genomics, biotechnology and/or biomedicine
	Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes with a commitment to excellence in teaching, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
	Demonstrated evidence of innovative initiatives undertaken in the last three years that have improved the student experience, and the evaluation of effectiveness of these initiatives.
	Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
	Strong record of research publication and conference presentation.
	Success in obtaining research funding from grants/contracts/consultancies.
	Record of successful research student supervision (relative to opportunity).
