Al Ameed University, founded in 2017 is one of the leading private universities in Iraq. It was established following the amendment of the Law of Establishing Colleges and Universities of the Republic.
The university is located in Karbala, a city in central Iraq. The city is the former site of the Battle of Karbala, which took place in 680 CE.
There are three faculties available for students at the university to study, the faculty of dentistry, faculty of nursing, and the faculty of medicine. The university also offers e-learning options for distance learning students.
In the faculty of dentistry students are taught to become experts in the field of oral and dental health care. Students in the faculty of nursing acquire knowledge, skills and behaviours that are paramount to the nursing profession. The faculty of medicine ensures that its students graduate as qualified doctors who are able to help patients both nationally and internationally.
Students must pass a health exam prior to starting at the university, according to instructions from the Iraqi Ministry of Health.
State-of-the-art laboratories and the latest modern technologies enrich the student experience provided by the university. Professors who are experts in their field create a supportive learning environment for students to excel in their studies.
Building a relationship with the local community is an important part of the university’s mission. Many of the university’s graduates contribute to the development of the Iraqi society through their successful work. The university itself is committed to producing scientific research that addresses the main problems in society and seeks innovative solutions to fix them.
