Al Ain University (AAU), founded in 2004, is located in the city of Al Ain, within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It’s known as the Garden City due to its palm groves and natural springs.
Having begun with just three colleges, the university has continued to expand its offerings to now include 16 undergraduate programmes across six colleges; engineering, pharmacy, law, education, humanities and social sciences, business and communication and media. There are also nine master’s programmes on offer, as well as a professional diploma in teaching.
With this expansion, the student enrollment tripled, and a second campus was built in Abu Dhabi in 2008. Located in Mohammed bin Zayed City, it’s a contemporary campus with modern computer labs, a library, classrooms, conference rooms and a state-of-the-art theatre.
There’s also a range of recreational facilities including a cafeteria, student lounges, and a gym with the latest sports equipment. For convenience, there’s also a bookshop on each campus, which is stocked full of all the required textbooks for courses.
AAU provides a free shuttle service for students between the university’s two different campuses.
Students at AAU can get involved in a wide variety of events and activities on campus. There are plenty of sports leagues to compete in, as well as competitions like "AAU Got Talent" for students to showcase their talents.
AAU offers a range of scholarships and financial aid to students who excel academically or in extracurricular activities.
