Founded in 2009, Ahmedabad University is based in Gujarat, on the Western Coast of India. The campus is located in Navrangpura, which is commonly known as the "university area" of Ahmedabad city.
The university comprises three schools and five centres: Amrut Mody School of Management, school of arts and sciences, school of engineering and applied science, centre for heritage management, VentureStudio, centre for learning futures, global centre for environment and energy and centre for inter-Asian research.
Ahmedabad University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in a variety of fields, including: engineering, commerce, humanities, management and sciences. Students can then specialise further and study postgraduate courses, including: management studies, business administration, technology and economics. The university also offers PhD programmes.
The university has a central library and three other branch libraries, one each at the Amrut Mody School of Management, Centre for Heritage Management, and the School of Arts and Sciences.
Student clubs include: dance club, environment club, literary club, theatre club, quiz club, sports club, student magazine club and film appreciation club.
Every year, the university also hosts a number of inter and intra university events in various outdoor sports such as cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, as well as indoor games such as table tennis, chess and more.
On campus, there’s a AES Sports Complex, which includes a cricket ground, basketball court, volleyball court, table tennis court and two football grounds.
Ahmedabad University has established relationships with universities around the world, carrying out various exchange activities such as academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and the opportunity for students to study abroad.
Partner universities include University of Glasgow (Scotland), Imperial College London (United Kingdom) and Michigan State University (US).
