About Medical University of Bialystok
The Medical University of Bialystok was established in 1950 in the city of Bialystok, northeastern Poland. The Medical University aims to carry out advanced scientific research to create innovative medical solutions that respond to social needs.
From its Euroregional Pharmacy Centre to its Molecular Imaging Laboratory, the university has state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities, giving students the opportunity to learn the latest techniques in medicine in preparation for their professional careers.
The university offers undergraduate programmes in a variety of subject areas including: laboratory medicine, phonoaudiology, emergency medicine, dental technology, and electroradiology. There is also postgraduate programmes and doctorate courses on offer. There is one English language programme at the university, a six-year medicine course, however most students at the university take their courses in the Polish language. In the Polish language, there are 16 programmes in total on offer across the faculties: medicine, pharmacy, and health sciences.
Extracurricular activities are abundant at the university through study clubs and student organisations. Students can also engage in clinical trials, learn practical skills and take part in scientific conferences to advance their skills in their preferred medical career. The university also has partnerships with several businesses, working to patent and commercialise their research efforts.
The university has its headquarters in an 18th century Baroque palace named the Versailles of the North, located in the city’s centre. The campus hosts school buildings, two teaching hospitals, student dorms, as well as sporting facilities.
