Towering cliches

Ian McNay states we are in the business of "client delight" (Letters, THES, October 6).

I thought that we were concerned with teaching students. But that must just be my "traditionalist ivory-tower arrogance".

It is good to know that thanks to McNay's research we have moved beyond vacuous cliches.
