Why does Gill Evans (Soapbox, THES , November 30) see anything irregular in one individual's belonging to a number of committees at Cambridge University?
In a large further education college, I am academic staff governor, on the academic board, on the corporation curriculum committee and on the equal opportunities monitoring group. None of these is a conflict of interest, and I give back to the education system something of what I have received.
