We are seeking motivated postdoctoral scholars with a passion for flexible bioelectronics and medical robotics to join our dynamic research team. The system incorporates cutting-edge technologies in bioelectronics, soft robotics, and materials science, leveraging advanced materials and fabrication technologies. As a member of the Multiscale Intelligent Biodevices Lab (MIB), led by Dr. Rujie Sun at the University of Southampton, you will lead efforts to develop innovative bioelectronic systems that integrate real-time monitoring and therapeutic functions. Your primary focus will be designing and fabricating flexible bioelectronics that can interface seamlessly with biological tissues, combining soft robotic techniques to enhance personalized treatment. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on interdisciplinary projects, pushing the frontiers of personalized medicine and health management. In this project, you will collaborate with Inha University and have access to a broad network of academic partners, including Imperial College London, University of Oxford, University of Bristol, and University of Liverpool. Additionally, we work closely with industrial and clinical collaborators, providing opportunities for fostering new partnerships and expanding your professional network.

The successful applicant should have required qualifications and experience


	Education: PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines with a strong academic record (Or working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD).
	Research Interests: Demonstrated enthusiasm for research in flexible bioelectronics, soft medical robotics, or related fields.
	Skills: Extensive experience in microfabrication techniques for bioelectronics or soft robotics, as well as expertise in biomaterials for medical tools. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and excellent communication skills.

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join Dr Lindsay Broadbent’s group in the Section of Virology, School of Biosciences, University of Surrey.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative translational research project exploring the association of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection and the development of childhood asthma. The successful candidate will use complex respiratory epithelial cell models grown and differentiated at air-liquid interface to explore virus-host interactions and subsequent innate immune responses and signalling pathways.

We are therefore looking for a highly motivated individual with or about to obtain a PhD in a biological science related subject, and proven ability in cell biology and virus research. A background in culturing primary cells and/or organoid systems, virology, innate immunology and transcriptomics would also be highly beneficial.

Our well-equipped laboratory is located in the School of Biosciences at the beautiful campus of the University of Surrey, close to London. The dynamic and growing Section of Virology is comprised of five research groups focused on the molecular and cellular basis of disease caused by a range of important human and animal pathogens including herpesviruses, poxviruses, SARS-CoV2, RSV and arboviruses.

Job description

A vacancy has become available in our busy café which serves our students and staff. We have 4 cafés within the University, and you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while ensuring they receive outstanding service.

The role will include serving hot and cold food to customers, having excellent product knowledge and upselling products. You will work alongside a professional and diverse team.

You must have previous experience of working in a catering environment with both front of house and back of house experience, excellent customer service skills and relevant Food Hygiene certification.

The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service.

This role is 23.75 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.

Description

The Materials NMR laboratory in the Division/ Center of science, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research assistant/ research associate/ postdoctoral associate to work on the solid-state NMR with focus on the materials chemistry.

The successful applicant will drive a fascinating project on DNP solid-state NMR on energy related materials.  Our recent work can be found here (10.1039/D3SC05514K).

The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students.

Applicants must have a PhD in solid-state NMR.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. Good computer programming skills and working knowledge of MATLAB are preferred.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge resources at core technology platform at NYU AD in a collaborative research environment. The NMR center at NYU Abu Dhabi has an active NMR research community with a DNP SSNMR at 600 MHz (spinning frequency range from 10 kHz to 100 kHz), 500 MHz solution NMR spectrometer and X-band EPR instrument. Moreover, the postdoc will have access to the well-equipped core research facilities of NYUAD.
