Wood that they had their just desserts

I am deeply conscious of the high honour and distinction of being selected to provide a text for a Laurie Taylor column, but please allow me to point out that I am not at present vice chancellor of the University of London, and nor is Tony Wood, despite being described as such on your letters page. Andrew Rutherford remains vice chancellor until the end of August next year, when I shall succeed him.

These details, as I'm sure Professor Taylor would agree, are intrinsically important.
