The Dalai Lama visited London Metropolitan University last week, where he accepted an honorary doctorate.
London Met conferred the doctorate of philosophy on the Tibetan spiritual leader at a ceremony at the institution, during his ten-day visit to the UK.
After the ceremony, he attended a private reception and met with the university's Tibetan students.
This year is the tenth anniversary of London Metropolitan's Tibetan scholarship programme, which has supported Tibetan students from India, Nepal and Bhutan to study for bachelors and masters degrees at the university.
