Letter: Hurdles in the RAE handicap 4

A 3a means that up to 33 per cent (50 per cent for a 3b) of staff submitted are failures at research. Yet the RAE fails to identify them or educate management in what is good research. If management is so poor that it can submit research failures, what credibility can be given to its judgement for staff omitted?
