Finance one of the main causes of student stress

A survey of more than 2,000 UK university students found that 15 per cent feel that managing finances is the most stressful aspect of college life.

The same proportion (15 per cent) said that taking exams was the most stressful part of being at university, while 18 per cent identified coursework as the factor that caused them the most stress.

Fewer respondents identified being away from family, friends and loved ones (9 per cent), making new friends (7 per cent), or living conditions in accommodation (4 per cent) as the most stressful. The research was conducted by Which? University between 16 March and 10 April 2017. 

Students were asked to identify the most stressful aspect of university:
