About the Role

This newly created Technical Officer position will report to the Technical Coordinator and will play a key role in providing technical service and expertise to support the activities and users of the designated laboratories and workspaces.

In this role, the Technical Officer will be responsible for maintaining and demonstrating the operation of laboratory equipment and instruments, as well as providing essential technical support to both staff and students. Working closely with the Technical Coordinator, the incumbent will be instrumental in ensuring timely maintenance of the laboratories and supporting the adoption and implementation of OHS standards, all while delivering a client-centric, professional service.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:


	Demonstrated experience working within a Clinical Environment or a Nursing Simulated Health laboratory.
	Demonstrated knowledge/experience in the routine operation, maintenance, and training of various forms of equipment or instruments related to Clinical Nursing Environments; experience in Nursing Simulated Health resources would be an advantage.
	Proven track record of building strong relationships with a range of stakeholders, including understanding and embracing a client-focused framework.
	Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards related to the field within the scope of the service area.
	Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.
	Demonstrated experience and understanding of working in accordance to the RMIT value statements or similar frameworks in other organisations.
	A commitment to RMIT's policies of supporting a diverse workplace along with zero tolerance towards harassment, bullying or discrimination in any form.
	Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Nursing or a related discipline and/or relevant experience. Current registration is not required.

The Riddet Institute is a world-best research centre in food and nutritional sciences, providing fundamental scientific understanding and training for a new generation of science leaders. The Institute integrates partner organisations (Massey University (host), Auckland and Otago Universities, AgResearch and Plant and Food Research) and disciplines, leading a "NZ Inc" approach to food research, and generates knowledge and capability that transforms the New Zealand food industry.

Located in Palmerston North, we are seeking a high-achieving, full-time (37.5h p/w) Research Officer to work on a Riddet Institute Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) funded project in the field of precision fermentation and alternative proteins, including optimisation of strains and fermentation conditions, development of biomass recovery processes and scale-up.

The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Food Biotechnology or related disciplines with demonstrated expertise in fermentation/precision fermentation of heterotrophic microbes (microalgae, yeast, fungi, or bacteria). Knowledge of metabolic engineering for microbial strain improvement is desirable. They will also demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving techniques, as well as high motivation and enthusiasm to work with an interdisciplinary team in food biotechnology/sciences.

Appointable within the Research Officer range ($81,172 - $103,595 NZD), reflective of experience and publication, for a fixed-term period of four years to cover specific project deliverables in the current CoRE research programme which finishes in 2028.

Applications are invited for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor on tenure terms or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Linguistics in the School of Humanities (Linguistics) (Ref.: 530396), to commence on September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Appointment as Assistant Professor will be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Linguistics, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have an exemplary research record and a transdisciplinary approach cutting across subfields. We seek to hire a scholar whose research addresses one or several of the following themes: (1) developing and analysing language interfaces between humans and machines; (2) uncovering links between language, nature, culture, and social organization; (3) examining the forces of language emergence, evolution, and linguistic diversity.

The appointee will be thoroughly familiar with cutting-edge methods relevant to their area(s) of specialization and employ excellent data science skills. The successful candidate should have experience collecting and analyzing large and small corpora, preferably typologically diverse, and approach language research from an interdisciplinary perspective.  Experience with multilingual populations and working with under-resourced languages is a plus.

The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering, New York University Abu Dhabi, seek to recruit a Postdoctoral Associate to work on a fascinating project focused on the development machine-learning powered digital twin system for the structural performance of civil engineering structures. The project is a collaboration between multiple research groups and involves a diverse range of activities including: structural and geotechnical modeling, machine-learning model development, structural sensing and health monitoring, conducting physical experiments, and validation of computational models.

Required Qualifications:

A successful applicant must have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or Mechanical Engineering. Applicants are expected to demonstrate research experience in the fields of structural modeling and machine-learning model development.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the following will be preferred:


	the development of computational models to represent structural performance using commercial and research software tools
	the development and validation of neural network models focused on representing the structural response
	physical experimental testing for structural and geotechnical applications
	data acquisition and processing from monitoring systems
	validation of modeling results against experimental and monitoring data
